This module is designed to cover the main theoretical approaches to the study of individual differences and to critically examine research findings in this area. The focus of the course is on developing an integrated picture of the whole person through understanding of the major facets of personality and how these work together to shape behaviour. Students will also explore the extent to which personality is the outcome of uniquely personal inner dynamics, the extent to which individuals reflect family, social, cultural and technological influences

This module explores the relationship between how psychological states are influenced by health and how health is influenced by ideas, emotions, and behaviors. By improving knowledge of the mind-body connection, students hope to aid in the creation of interventions that will both prevent and promote health. This module helps to gain knowledge about the interaction of biological, psychological, and social elements to enhance general health and well-being. The aim of this module is to provide a foundation for understanding the process of psychological inquiry and to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to critically evaluate studies in the psychological literature.

This module is designed to introduce the student to the theory and issues involved in counselling. Various models of counselling and behavior change that constitute the field of counselling psychology will be examined along with an introduction to the major theories and their related techniques and interventions. There will be emphasis on the theoretical orientations such as the four paradigms of therapeutic psychology, namely behavioral, cognitive, cognitive behavioral and humanistic.

This module provides students an opportunity to explore the comprehension of human growth and learning in educational environments. This module includes a variety of learning methods as well as cognitive, social, and emotional development. In order to promote students’ academic and socio-emotional development, the module also covers assessment techniques, recognizing learning problems, and putting solutions into practice. This fosters an atmosphere that maximizes learning outcomes for all learners.

This module introduces the methods and statistics used to develop knowledge in the field of psychology. Topics covered include operationalising theoretical constructs, internal and external validity, sampling and assignment, and an introduction to survey and experimental methods. Data analysis techniques include measures of central tendency, chi-square tests, t- tests, one- way ANOVA, correlation and regression as they pertain to pyschological research. The concept of statistical inference, decision making and potential sources of error are also covered. The computer statistical package, SPSS, is used to develop practical analysis skills and enhance conceptual understanding.

The module is designed to explore the abnormal behavior, psychological disorders, and how they are treated. It examines the different biological, psychological, and social components that lead to aberrant behavior. The course examines the symptoms, causes, and effects of a wide range of diseases on both individuals and society, including schizophrenia, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders. The module’s overall goal is to give students a thorough understanding of abnormal psychology with a focus on using knowledge to address mental health issues and developing critical thinking and empathy skills.

This module emphasis thorough examination of psychological development from infancy through adolescence. It looks at how children change physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially as they mature, highlighting the ways in which experiences, environment, and heredity interact to shape a child’s developmental path. Important theories, developmental milestones, and factors affecting a child’s growth—such as attachment, language acquisition, cognitive development, and socialization—are covered in this module. Furthermore, the subject explores abnormal development, including developmental disorders and the effects of traumatic childhood experiences on mental health. In general, the objective is to provide students a thorough grasp of the intricacies of child development, encouraging insights into efficient treatments, caring techniques.

This module keeps the students up to date with the current developments of applied psychology. Topics include the diverse fields of child and family development, the psychology of well- being, addiction behaviors and the various emerging fields of psychology in our time.

Each module is assessed by academic work comprising written assignments, case study reports, essays, examination as determined by the subject profile. The assessment criterion varies from module to module and level to level.
