The Advanced Diploma in Business Management (Chinese) programme is designed to equip students with relevant knowledge and skills to understand the role of management in the private and public sector enterprises.
Students will gain a solid foundation in management studies in areas such as Managerial Accounting, Management Information Systems with FinTech Applications, Financial Management, Research Methods, Innovation and Entrepreneurship 2, Organisational Behaviour, Operations Management and Human Resource and Cross-Cultural Management.

This module aims to allow learners who work in or want to work in accounting environments where they will be required to use management accounting techniques which contribute to effective decision making and control. This module covers inventory management, short-term decision making, accounting for overheads, budgetary planning and control, working capital management, standard costing and variances, costing methods, long-term decision making and management information systems.

This module provides students with an introduction to the various types of Information Systems (IS) especially Management Information System and how IS can be employed to support various business functions. At the end of this module, the student would have a gained a deeper understanding of what Business Analyst needs to deliver and focus on advancing current FinTech applications in real-world applications.

This module is designed for finance and business students to enable them to present and apply theories of corporate finance. The module covers Financial Forecasting, Planning and Budgeting; Management of Working Capital; Sources of Finance; Time Value of Money and Capital Investment Appraisal; Capital Budgeting; Cost of Capital; Leverage and Capital Structure and Dividend Policy.

This module introduces students to the core concepts, methods, and values involved in doing research, from formulating research questions, reviewing the literature, designing questionnaires, to carrying out data analysis and presenting research results. The strengths and weaknesses of research methods are examined to help students choose an appropriate methodology, ethical controversies that affect research are discussed.

This module looks into developing sustainable venture; value creation; social entrepreneurship, innovation within the value chain of an organization; ownership and structure; innovators in action: managing rapid growth, managing a troubled organisation, and crafting a personal strategy. It leads to the concept of social entrepreneurship to support the idea of environmental sustainability and challenges.

This module aims to allow learners to contribute to various aspects on decision-making process that influence an organization’s behaviour and improve its performance. It enables learners to understand how changes in internal and external environment impact an organization and how different management practices can help shape its response to these changes. It looks at the importance of professional ethics and its relationship to managing risk.

This module provides students with the conceptual framework of Operations Management that is applicable to both manufacturing and the service industries. Students will be exposed to Operations Management; Operations Decision Making; Forecasting; Facility Location; Materials Management-purchasing, inventory and JIT systems; MRP and CRP; Scheduling and Control; Project Management – CPM/PERT; and Quality Management and TQM system.

The module aims to equip students with the abilities and skills to adapt and manage an increasingly diverse and competitive business environment. Topics include the strategic role of human resource management; diversity management; screening and selection of candidates; interviewing candidates; compensation, incentives and benefits; evaluating and appraising employee performance; and organizational culture and change and cross-cultural issues.
