About the Programme

The Postgraduate Diploma in Management is a six-month postgraduate programme that provides students with advanced knowledge, skills and competencies in the key functional areas of management.
This programme will ensure that students are able to apply their management competencies to the complex and changing business environment in order to drive organisational growth.
Upon completion of this programme, students will be able make informed decisions at middle and senior levels of management.
This programme will equip students with the necessary skills and advanced knowledge to be successful managers and leaders in the challenging and diverse environment in which they find themselves.
The programme is delivered via lectures, seminars, workshops, business games and simulations.
Students will undergo a capstone business management simulation game designed to teach the competitive analysis, strategy, financial aspects, cross-functional alignment and the selection of plans to build a thriving and result oriented company .This provides students an opportunity to adopt new strategies and implement new strategies.

Modules

In this module you will break out of a functional perspective; develop a holistic understanding of an organisation as a future business leader. Through the integration of concepts, models and techniques of all business functions in the strategic planning process, students go on to investigate how strategic decisions are made by within organisations to deliver sustainable competitive advantage in an international context. They will also analyse the nature of markets and the managerial and organisational competences required in them before they engage, evaluate, and apply the various drivers of sustainable strategic development towards contemporary global issues.

This module introduces students to the principles of financial management from a corporate perspective. The approach is to present and examine the theory and practice of investment and financing decision-making. The application of a range of analytical techniques appropriate to contemporary financial decision-making is used to evaluate business options.

As projects drive change in a dynamic organisation, successful managers today are required to be able to apply appropriate approaches, knowledge, skills, tools and techniques towards the completion of large and complex initiatives and product development. Students will gain an excellent grounding and acquire practical skills in a range of techniques and tools used by professional project managers to plan, lead, manage, direct, control and deliver their projects successfully.

In this module, students will develop knowledge and skills to understand concepts and the conceptual framework underpinning structured and unstructured data. Learners will acquire useful practical knowledge in the use of big data for business practices and processes to automate transactions, help businesses predict revenue, analyse cost patterns for businesses, detect potential frauds and perform financial analysis etc.

This module explores the processes of designing and implementing systematic marketing programs across national boundaries in an asian perspective. Students will develop critical understandings on how marketing principles can be effectively applied to varying international markets and adapted under changing marketing environments. Furthermore, this unit also provides important insights on market evaluation, market entry, strategy formulation, and emerging trends in international marketing.

This module introduces students to the concepts, functions, practices and contemporary issues of Human Resources Management (HRM), and its importance in the effective and ethical management of people within global organisations. It will enable students to apply their understanding of all aspects of the HRM function to problems confronting managers and organisations operating in different countries and geographical locations through the use of practice exercises and case analysis.
