How To Apply
Student’s Pass Application Process for International Students
International students who wish to study full-time in Singapore are required to apply for a Student’s Pass issued by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA).
After your application is assessed and approved by EAIM, you will receive a Letter of Offer. You must accept the offer and complete the required admission formalities before the Student’s Pass application can proceed.
The following documents may be required by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA):
Applicant of the Student’s Pass:
- Passport biodata page
- Recent passport-sized colour photograph (with white background)
- Birth Certificate (Original native Language and English-translated version)
- Documentary proof of financial ability in the form of bank statements/ fixed deposit accounts/ letter of employment (Applicants & his/her parents if they are still working) & saving accounts (photocopy) -applicable if the applicant requires a visa to enter Singapore.
- Submission of Form 16 (IMM 16) and Form V36 ( https://www.ica.gov.sg/eservicesandforms/all-forms )
EAIM will register your details through ICA’s Student’s Pass application system. Once completed the registration, EAIM will send the completed E-form to the Applicants.
Students are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted is true, accurate and complete. They will then e-sign back to EAIM for submission.
The normal ICA processing time is 14 working days upon receipt of the STP application and required documents. However, some applications may take a longer time to process. Applicants will be notified of the outcome via email. You are advised to check your email inbox regularly.
ICA may request additional documents or clarification during the assessment.
If the application is approved, ICA will issue an In-principle Approval Letter. Students should only make travel arrangements after receiving the necessary approval and entry instructions.
For students who require a visa to enter Singapore, the visa will generally be included in the IPA letter issued by ICA. The IPA is valid for three months and serves as Single-Journey Visa.
- The IPA allows one-time entryinto Singapore.
- The IPA is not a valid passto remain in Singapore.
- You are still required to complete your Student’s Pass formalitiesafter arrival.
- If you are entering on a Social Visit Pass (SVP), ensure you monitor its validity.
To extend your SVP, apply from ICA – E-Service For Extension of Short Term Visit Pass
After arriving in Singapore, students must complete ICA’s formalities before the Student’s Pass can be issued. This may include medical examination, submission of required forms, biometric enrolment and an appointment with ICA, where applicable.
Upon successful completion of ICA formalities, the Student’s Pass will be issued. ICA has issued Student’s Passes as digital passes since 27 February 2023.
Student’s Pass holders must comply with all ICA regulations and EAIM requirements, including:
- Maintaining valid immigration status
- Attending classes regularly
- Updating EAIM on changes to passport, address or contact details
- Notifying EAIM of any change in enrolment status
- Complying with Singapore laws and regulations
Important Note
Approval of the Student’s Pass is at the sole discretion of ICA. EAIM will assist students with the application process, but cannot guarantee the outcome of any Student’s Pass application.
As soon as the school receives the outcome of your application from ICA , we will inform you accordingly.
Full payment is to be made before the school can issue the relevant documents for your collection of student pass. For applicants from visa required countries, full payment is to be made before we can collect the entry visa to be sent to you to enter Singapore.

“ Each application received is considered on its own merits, taking into account educational, professional and personal experience. All applicants for admission to a course offered by EAIM must be at least 17 years of age at the time of application (except for English and Foundation programs, where the minimum is 15 years of age.) Any false statement or inaccuracies made in a student’s application for entry to EAIM may result in that student being required to leave the school. Each application for admission will go through 7 stages, which includes a two-week waiting period of approval from Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). The time taken depends on the cooperation of the student in providing the full documents and payment.”
