About the Programme

The Post-Graduate Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management will provide students with a holistic view of tourism and hospitality organisations and to examine the interface between them. This qualification also provides specialist up-to-date knowledge of management in the hospitality and tourism sector.

Modules

This module comprehensively explores strategic, operational, and customer-centric aspects of the hospitality industry. It addresses seamless integration of diverse components through strategic planning, operational excellence in accommodations, and prioritization of customer experiences. Topics may include revenue generation, luxury and niche products service and experience development and delivery, corporate and social responsibility, communication strategies, operational constraints / issues, and sustainability issues. Students benefit from a nuanced understanding of the complexities in Integrated Resort Management, fostering proficiency in diverse operations management and delivering exceptional guest experiences within the dynamic hospitality sector.

Students wiill explores the multi-disciplinary dimensions of studying food, drink, and culture in today’s context with a focus on contemporary cuisine. It integrates diverse culinary styles, cooking methods, and global flavours emphasizing the challenges within the business environment. This module addresses supply pressures and fosters essential food and drink technology skills for effective product understanding by recognizing the significance of food and beverage in tourism with the exploration into academic discussions on their role in human nutrition. Preparing students for leadership roles, it integrates cultural diversity and underscores the pivotal role of contemporary food and drink in the global marketplace.

This module provides a comprehensive study of strategic, operational, and customer-centric aspects crucial for effective leadership in the dynamic hospitality industry. Through exploration of strategic issues, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction initiatives, it helps to equip students with essential skills for the successful day-to-day operations and long-term planning within a hospitality entreprise. Students gain an understanding of revenue optimization, global tourism trends, and integrated environmentally conscious practices, thus addressing contemporary sustainability goals. Students will examine diverse hospitality enterprises, with a greater understanding of industry dynamics and ensuring proficiency in navigating evolving trends and challenges.
