EAIM Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management is intended to provide holistic general management training for working adults and senior executives. Programme
Modules

This module develops an understanding of how managerial accounting adds values to organisations’ strategic and operational decision making processes. Emphasis will be directed towards developing the skills required in the managerial planning, control and decision making processes. This unit also strives to develop key skills including ability to identify relevant financial and non-financial information, problem solving, critical thinking, data analysis, written and oral communication, collaboration and team work skills. All of these skills are desirable for accounting professionals working in both domestic and international companies in the private and public sectors.

This module examines the principles, theories, and practical issues arising from how companies make investment, financing and distribution decisions. Central to the approaches for making investment decisions is the discount cash flow technique, and its application to project evaluation and analysis. In order to fund operations and new projects, companies need to seek internal and external funding.

This module covers valuation models used in equity markets. It will prepare students to analyse companies and thereafter determine their value.

In this module. students will learn to implement financial models effectively for analysis, budgeting, forecasting, planning and simulations matter in organisations pertaining to financial matters. A broad range of topics, including financial modelling methods, financial valuation, pricing and risks, strategies for decision making will be covered.

In this module, students will learn about options, futures and techniques for managing asset risk. Topics covered include an overview of derivative securities, forward and futures, options, hedging positions in options and other derivative securities including exotics, and modelling in option pricing. To augment these concepts, real life case studies will be provided to elaborate the issues in using these techniques. On the completion of this unit, students will gain the skills to work as a investment/ fund manager.

This module equips students with the market and instrument knowledge as well as analytical and modelling methods for the pricing and hedging of these securities. A broad range of topics covering basic concepts behind fixed income and derivative securities, pricing and hedging methods, modelling methods, the put-call parity, the yield curves, as well as strategies in hedging and structuring financial products are included in the treatment.

This module enables students to make lending decisions on a portfolio basis. The focus is on the financial environment on a global perspective through the utilisation of case studies. Students will explore how prudential guidelines make an impact on lending decisions. Students will analyse various lending models which shows how modern portfolio theory has led to various models that measure the risk and return of a lending portfolio.
