Programme Introduction

This course seeks to offer students further studies in business and human resource management built upon the foundation provided at the Diploma level.

Programme Objective

Learning Objectives:

  1. To educate the students on the nature of human resource management.
  2. To develop students intellectual capabilities of interpretation and analysis; critical evaluation; selection and synthesis; reasoned argument; research and problem solving skills.
  3. To understand human resource management problems, select and apply appropriate methodologies and devise solutions to these problems.
  4. To analyse the human resource environment and adopt innovative approaches to the development of human resource management.
  5. To develop analytical and evaluative skills.

Modules

1. Managerial Accounting

This module provides students with the skills of identification, measurement, accumulation, analysis, preparation, interpretation and communication of financial information that assists management in fulfilling organisational objectives. The subject provides students with knowledge of the various cost concepts and systems in manufacturing and service sectors. In addition, the coverage includes cost measurement and allocation, activity-based costing and just-in-time management, essential for an efficient management of cost. A practical approach to the use of cost management tools will be taught considering today’s highly competitive business environment where strategic pricing and business positioning are vital for business survival.

Assessment:
Each module is assessed by academic work comprising written assignments, case study reports, essays, examination as determined by the subject profile. The assessment criterion varies from module to module and level to level.
 

Graduation Requirement

• Must passed all modules

• Must achieve an overall attendance of 90% (International Student) and 75% (Local Student).
