This module provides students an opportunity to explore observable behaviors and how they are conditioned, acquired, and shaped by their surroundings. This module looks into the concepts of reinforcement, conditioning, and behavior modification. It addresses issues including habit formation, behavioral therapies, classical and operant training, and the influence of outside stimuli on human behavior and emotions. A primary focus is comprehending the processes that shape, alter, and sustain behavior.

The module is designed to focus on mental functions like memory, perception, decision-making, and problem-solving. This module explores the ways in which people gather, use, store, and process information. It looks at language, logic, attention, and cognitive processes. In order to understand the complex workings of the mind, the course delves into theories and experimental results, covering topics such as information processing, brain circuits, and cognitive growth. Emphasis is also placed on useful applications in therapy, education, and technology, showing how cognitive psychology influences fields such as learning tactics and mental health therapies

This module is designed to cover the methods of research used to answer psychological questions. It will explore the techniques and utilise SPSS to engage students to explore basic approaches to research design and data analysis, and issues that affect decision making in research. The aim of this module is to provide a foundation for understanding the process of psychological inquiry and to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to critically evaluate studies in the psychological literature. Specific emphasis will be on interpretation and design of research in psychology.

This module aims to equip learners with the knowledge of organizational dynamics with an emphasis on worker motivation, behavior, and output. Students will understand how people interact in their workplaces, covering across like communication, team dynamics, leadership, and organizational culture. It looks into how techniques such as stress management, employee motivation, and conflict resolution might improve well-being, productivity, and job satisfaction in businesses. It is essential to comprehend how people behave at work, including the elements that influence job happiness and performance.

This module is designed to provide students with an overall perspective of the life-span developmental perspective which is an important component of the discipline of psychology and provides a background understanding of human functioning which must be considered by researchers and practitioners working in all areas of the Discipline.

This module is designed to provide students with an overall perspective of the scope, nature, and methods involved in psychological research. The major concepts examined in this course include memory and learning strategies, research methods in psychology, the biological basis of behaviour, motivation and emotion, sensation and perception, learning through classical and operative conditioning, intelligence, thought and language, and consciousness. Basic aspects of research design will be covered.

This module introduces students to an overall perspective of psychology as applied to modern life. The module enables students to relate what they are learning to issues that they encounter in their everyday life, such as stress health, work, personal relationships, communication, and self-esteem. This course also helps students understand behavioral traits and personality, and how it sharps our perspective on areas such as sexuality, social pressure, mental health and prejudice.

This module introduces students to the scientific study of social behaviour, and to the process of empirical research and report writing as an essential skill for applied psychology. Social behaviour is introduced as the study of social processes at a number of levels from the individual level through to more broadly based social phenomena. Some of the major concepts and areas of social psychology are introduced (e.g., social research methods, socialization, self-esteem, altruism, aggression, attitudes, communication, interpersonal relationships, family issues, prejudice, group processes, cultural considerations, leadership and social influence).

Assessment

Each module is assessed by academic work comprising written assignments, case study reports, essays, examination as determined by the subject profile. The assessment criterion varies from module to module and level to level.

Graduation Requirement

• Must passed all modules.
• Must achieve an overall attendance of 90% (International Student) and 75% (Local Student).

Academic Minimum Entry Requirement

  • 2 GCE A-Level pass at C grade or equivalent, or
  • EAIM Certificate in Applied Psychology or equivalent or
  • EAIM Diploma in Foundation Studies or equivalent , or
  • Completed 12 years of formal education, or
  • LCCI Diploma Level 3 or

Mature candidates who is at least 30 years old with at least 8 years of working experience

  • IELTS 5.5, or
  • O-Level C6 English or equivalent, or
  • Minimum score of 85 in Duolingo English Test, or
