About the Programme

The Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (E-Learning) equips students with the skills to apply scientifically-based techniques to work-related problems. Students learn to apply skills in business forecasting, problem-solving, logistics, quality management, to support, schedule and control systems. It is a practice-based programme which seeks to equip students with a holistic overview of the logistics and supply chain management. Students will study subjects covering project management, work and organization behaviour, advanced supply chain and logistics, warehouse and inventory management, procurement and supply chain management, marketing management, operation management, transport management. Students will be exposed to a full range of management skills that is useful to succeed in today’s business environment. They are also encouraged to be critical thinkers and learners that will enable them to embark on further learning and professional career developments.

Modules

This module is designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in effective project planning, execution, and control. The module covers key principles and methodologies in project management, emphasizing practical applications in diverse business contexts. Students will delve into project initiation, scope definition, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and quality control. The curriculum integrates real-world case studies, allowing students to analyze and solve complex project management challenges. Additionally, the module explores contemporary project management tools, enhancing students’ proficiency in handling modern project requirements. Through a combination of theoretical insights and hands-on projects, students will develop the expertise needed to lead successful projects in today’s dynamic business environment.

This module aims to allow learners to contribute to various aspects on decision-making process that influence an organization’s behaviour and improve its performance. It enables learners to understand how changes in internal and external environment impact an organization and how different management practices can help shape its response to these changes. It looks at the importance of professional ethics and its relationship to managing risk.

This module provides a broad understanding of managing the movement of goods across various transportation modes. Students explore key concepts and practices involved in freight management, including transportation planning, carrier selection, route optimization, and freight cost management. The module covers freight documentation, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation strategies in international and domestic freight operations. Students learn to evaluate transportation options, negotiate contracts with carriers, and implement efficient freight management strategies to optimize supply chain performance. Overall, the module equips students with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage freight operations and enhance supply chain efficiency.

This module sets out the fundamentals of warehouse and inventory management. It provides practical steps that can be used in workplace, backed up with real world examples of how to improve operations within these areas as well as reduce costs. This module will take students through the many ways to tackle some of the potential issues and starting points to make a difference in minimizing effort, cost, and materials management in the workplace.

This module allows students to play a key role within supply chains with the Procurement Management unit. Procurement management has significant impacts on the bottom line of business operations. It involves getting the raw materials, services, and semi-finished and finished goods that the business needs. In this unit, students will investigate and reflect on the processes that drive these operations. This includes, sourcing, selecting, certifying and assessing of suppliers.

This module provides an in-depth exploration of advanced marketing strategies and principles. Students will explore into key areas such as strategic marketing planning, market segmentation, targeting, and positioning. The curriculum emphasizes the application of advanced marketing techniques and research methods to make informed business decisions. Additionally, the module covers contemporary topics in branding, and customer relationship management. The integration of industry trends and emerging techniques ensures that students are well-equipped to navigate the complex and ever-evolving landscape of modern marketing.

In this unit, students will develop their ability to understand and analyses operational problems and propose solutions. This requires a thorough understanding of both operations management principles and techniques and the ability to apply this knowledge in practice. Students will learn about operations functions in manufacturing and service organizations, planning and control of operations processes and design application of key quantitative and qualitative methodologies and techniques and strategies to improve organizational performance in a globalized environment.

This module equips students to obtain adequate understanding and knowledge regarding various components that make up the transportation carrier management of the logistics operation, being the single largest cost component in the logistics pipeline.

Assessment

Each module is assessed by academic work comprising written assignments, case study reports, essays, examination as determined by the subject profile. The assessment criterion varies from module to module and level to level.

Graduation Requirement

• Must pass all modules.
• Must achieve an overall attendance of 90% (International Student) and 75% (Local Student).

Academic Minimum Entry Requirement

  • EAIM Diploma in relevant field of study, or
  • Polytechnic Diploma in relevant field, or
  • BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in relevant field of study, or
  • Other qualifications or professional qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis

Mature Candidate who is at least 30 years old with at least 8 years of working experience.

English Language Minimum Entry Requirement
  • EAIM Certificate in Business English (Advanced), or
  • IELTS 5.5, or
  • O-Level C6 English or equivalent
  • Minimum score of 85 in Duolingo English Test, or
  • Other equivalent English qualifications
