Programme
Modules

This module analyses how various accounting theories can either explain or prescribe corporate reporting practices to help managers. This unit will explore why managers in business organisations disclose specific information externally and develop associated reporting practices.

The unit develops underlying concepts and applications of management accounting tools based on the traditional allocation approach and absorption costing method. Activity based costing and its use to manage activities is introduced.

This module enables students to make informed judgements and effective decisions around the management of money and other financial resources. This knowledge base is crucial for senior managers and board members, to ensure they can articulate their organisation’s financial position and guide operational improvements.

This module examines the principles, theories, and practical issues arising from how companies make investment, financing and distribution decisions. Central to the approaches for making investment decisions is the discount cash flow technique, and its application to project evaluation and analysis. In order to fund operations and new projects, companies need to seek internal and external funding.
