Programme Introduction

To enable practitioners working in a variety of contexts to develop deep and critical understandings of different sources of knowledge and of research evidence that contribute to the health and well-being of persons, groups and populations, in a way that is consistent with the values of person-centredness.

To influence and enable the transformative processes of personal and professional
development through engagement, facilitation and evaluation of community care.

Programme Objective

On completion of the degree programme, the graduate will be able to:

Reflect critically, evaluate practice using sound evidence base approach.
Develop and implement clinical assessment skills and problem solving approaches to integrate patient centred care.
Select and analyse theories and concepts which underpin practice.
Develop leadership skills that will enable them to manage nursing practice in a changing healthcare environment.
Function effectively in partnership with others and respond constructively to changing patterns in healthcare.
Demonstrate critical self-awareness and identify their personal and professional development needs

Modules

1. Theory and Practice of Person-centred Health and Social Care

To develop expertise in understanding the needs of a person, their family and their community throughout the lifespan, working collaboratively in ways that are consistent with the values of person-centredness. To facilitate critical understandings of different sources of knowledge contributing to health and well-being and to evidence generation and implementation, consistent with the values of person-centredness.

3. Making Judgments and Decisions in Practice

4. Developing Professional Practice - Work Based Learning

5. Supporting the Patient and Family in Palliative Care: A Team Approach

6. Developing Advanced Communication Skills in Palliative Care

7. Dissertation Project

Comprises of examination, presentations and assignments.

Graduation Requirement

• Must passed all modules

• Must achieve an overall attendance of 90% (International Student) and 75% (Local Student)

Minimum Age Requirement: 23 years (at the time of application)

Singaporean / PR

Candidates must have a first degree in Nursing

and

2 year post-registration nursing experience.
Candidates must be a registered healthcare professionals.

Proficiency in English Language:
English Language Proficiency of Minimum IELTS 6.5 or EAIM ETEDP 6.5.
