Advanced Diploma in Business Information Management
Programme Introduction
The Advanced Diploma in Business Information Management course is designed to equip students with cutting-edge skills in mobile app programming, management information systems with Fintech applications, E-commerce and Internet of things, cybersecurity, research methods, Big Data analytics, and innovation & entrepreneurship. This program is tailored to meet the evolving demands of the modern business landscape, providing a solid foundation in technology-driven solutions and strategic business insights.
Programme Objective
This program aims to foster proficiency in a diverse range of critical modules. Students will master the art of mobile app programming, enabling them to develop innovative, user-friendly applications for a mobile-centric market. The curriculum also delves into management information systems with a focus on Fintech applications, preparing graduates to leverage technology in financial operations. Additionally, E-commerce and Internet of Things modules equip students with the skills to navigate the digital marketplace, while a dedicated focus on cybersecurity ensures they understand and can mitigate potential risks. The program places a strong emphasis on research methods and Big Data analytics, enabling students to make data-driven decisions and contribute to innovation in the field. Lastly, courses in innovation & entrepreneurship II, system analysis and design provide the necessary tools and mindset for students to drive technological advancements and create impactful solutions in the business sphere.
Modules
Mobile Apps Programming with Java is designed to increase the breadth and depth of knowledge and practical skills of students in the wireless field. This module is designed to extend the students understanding of programming principles particularly knowledge of Java data types, statements, branching, iteration, arrays and lists, designing classes, interfaces and polymorphism, inheritance, I/O and file streams, sorting and searching and advanced Graphical User Interface (GUI) design. Students will apply this knowledge and provide solutions to practical problems.

Part-time: 9 months

One month prior to intake dates
1:150 (Classroom based lecture) 1:50 (Workgroup session)
Each module is assessed by academic work comprising written assignments, case study reports, essays, examination as determined by the subject profile. The assessment criterion varies from module to module and level to level.
Graduation Requirement
• Must passed all modules
• Must achieve an overall attendance of 90% (International Student) and 75% (Local Student)
Minimum Age Requirement: 17 years (at the time of application)
• Relevant EAIM Diploma OR
Minimum EAIM ETEDP Level 2 (5.5), IELTS 5.5, GCE O-Level C6 or equivalent
