Diploma in Business Management (HRM)
Programme Introduction
The Diploma in Business Management (HRM) is designed to provide the theoretical and practical perspective of business management, particularly in the area of human resource management.
Students will be exposed to a full range of management skills that is useful to succeed in today’s business environment. They are also encouraged to be critical thinkers and learners that will enable them to embark on further learning and professional career developments.
Programme Objective
Learning Objectives:
- To nurture the students on the fundamentals of business management.
- To provide students with the capabilities of interpretation and analysis; critical evaluation; selection and synthesis; reasoned argument; research and problem solving skills.
- To understand business management problems, select and apply appropriate methodologies and devise solutions to these problems.
- To analyse the business management environment and adopt innovative approaches to the development of business management.
- To develop analytical and evaluative skills.
Modules
This module is the foundation to the understanding of the principles and concepts of Accounting. It will cover the principles behind the construction of financial reports. Topics covered include the double entry recording system, financial statements, statement of cash flow, accounting standards, accounting equations, financial ratio analysis, valuation and measurement of assets and liabilities, and accounting for partnership formation and liquidation. Students will be exposed to the application of these accounting concepts in the preparation of financial statements for use by individuals, business, non-profit organisations and government institutions. Students will also be developing expertise in using these accounting principles and concepts in their analytical approach to financial problem-solving.

Each module is assessed by academic work comprising written assignments, case study reports, essays, examination as determined by the subject profile. The assessment criterion varies from module to module and level to level.
Graduation Requirement
• Must passed all modules
• Must achieve an overall attendance of 90% (International Student) and 75% (Local Student).
Age: Minimum 16 years old
• 2 GCE A-Level or
• EAIM Certificate of Business Management or equivalent or
• Minimum EAIM ETEDP 5.0 or IELTS 5.0, or O-Level C6, or equivalent
