Singapore, 10 October 2024 – In a significant stride towards fostering global education collaboration, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wolverhampton, Professor Ebrahim Adia, and Dr. Robin Carey, Head of International Partnerships, visited East Asia Institute of Management (EAIM) today. This collaboration will open doors to 14 programmes designed to meet the growing demands of today’s dynamic job market.
Cultivating a Global Mindset
The UK and Singapore are globally recognised for their outstanding education systems. The University of Wolverhampton contributes to public debate through its research, addressing local, national, and global challenges, while also preserving and promoting cultural works of international significance. At the same time, EAIM adopts a holistic education approach, focusing on four key areas: an industry-relevant curriculum, academic achievement with practical application, personal enrichment and career development, and the promotion of innovative and challenging viewpoints. Together, this partnership combines strengths from both institutions to create a more enriching and impactful educational experience, nurturing graduates to have a global mindset.
Bringing the ‘University of Opportunity’ to Singapore
Opportunities for students have been at the heart of Wolverhampton’s mission for over 190 years and this partnership will bring opportunities across to Singapore.
“We're proud to have University of Wolverhampton as our partner and look forward to maintaining a strong partnership that brings opportunities to the local and global community” remarked Mr Mark Chua, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of EAIM. With 40 years of nurturing career-ready professionals, this milestone further enhances EAIM’s vision to be a global education provider of choice for all who aspire to succeed.
During his visit, Professor Adia stated that “when I talk about opportunity, it is about giving (opportunity) to people in the UK, people in the Mid-lands and people around the world.” This highlights the University of Wolverhampton providing their students the right skills, high level of confidence, and the right ambition to be able to have a successful career.
Professor Adia is also welcomed by University of Wolverhampton students and alumni based in Singapore. This meeting allowed students to share their personal experiences, feedback, and insights on how their studies have positively impacted their academic and professional journeys. The interaction not only displayed the real-world impact of the partnership but also highlighted the shared commitment of both institutions to continuously improve the student experience.
Introducing Fresh Opportunities through Diverse Programmes
This partnership between EAIM and the University of Wolverhampton is poised to have a profound impact on the future of education in the region. With the introduction of 15 new academic programmes, students in Singapore and across the region will have access to an enhanced curriculum that combines global perspectives with local relevance.
