Diploma in Business and Management
Programme Introduction
The Diploma in Business and Management programme is designed to provide students the theoretical and practical perspective of business and management.
Students will study subjects covering business and management. Students will gain knowledge and skill in areas such as Management and Organization, Economics for Business, Accounting for Managers, People Management, Marketing Principles and Practice, Business Finance, Principles of Supply Chain Management, International Business Environment.
Students will be exposed to a full range of management skills that is useful to succeed in today’s business environment. They are also encouraged to be critical thinkers and learners that will enable them to embark on further learning and professional career developments.
Programme Objective
The Diploma in Business and Management aims to provide learners with
• Thorough grasp of business and management principles.
• Emphasize a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
• Technical skills and expertise necessary for effective business analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
• Solid foundation in both business and management covering essential principles, theories, and practices, to analyze and interpret business concept competently.
Modules
This module introduces students to the fundamentals of management including the roles and functions of modern managers. It covers management theory, organizational theory, as well as aspects of organizational environments, human resource planning, corporate social responsibility and ethics. Understanding these areas enable students to identify their role as emerging or future managers, and how leadership can influence positive contributions to individuals and organizations.

Part-time: 9 months

One month prior to intake dates
1:150 (Classroom based lecture) 1:50 (Workgroup session)
Each module is assessed through a combination of written assignments, case study reports, essays and/or examination. The assessment criterion varies from module to module.
Graduation Requirement
• Must passed all modules
• Must achieve an overall minimum attendance of 90% (International Student) and 75% (Local Student)
Minimum Age Requirement: 16 years (at the time of application)
• 2 GCE A-Level passes at C grade or equivalent, or
• EAIM Diploma in Foundation Studies or equivalent or
• Completed 12 years of formal education, or
• LCCI Diploma Level 3
- Minimum EAIM Certificate in Business English (Advanced), or
- IELTS 5.0, or
- O-Level C6 English or equivalent, or
- Minimum score of 85 in Duolingo English Test, or
- Other equivalent English qualifications
